Most egg packaging is built to a standard and handed to the farmer to work around. We did it the other way.

LEI's egg flats started with a simple habit: asking egg producers what they actually needed, then building to that. What size run were they packing? Where were eggs breaking — the line, the truck, the cooler? What did their operation need that off-the-shelf trays never gave them? Every answer went back into the design.

That's why our flats aren't one fixed product. They're fully customizable — dimensions, cell depth, strength, and fit tuned to how a specific operation packs, ships, and stores. A high-volume producer and a small regional farm don't need the same tray, so we don't hand them the same tray.

What stays constant is the fundamentals: molded from renewable paper fibers, uniform strength across every flat, and a fiber structure that absorbs impact and holds eggs firmly in place from packing to shelf. We produce more than 100 million egg flats a year, and each one is built to the spec it was designed for — not a compromise.

The result is packaging that fits the farmer's operation instead of forcing the operation to fit the packaging.
